Job description
In this position you are a part of the Maintenance & Set up department of SEKISUI S-LEC B.V. in Roermond.
The job purpose of the Senior Application Engineer is to optimize and maintain our operating systems and its documentation. This in order to maintain reliable equipment at one hand and at the other hand to keep focus on innovation.
As a Senior Application Engineer you develop, test and program PCS7 system, PLC programs (Siemens S7 – Mitsubishi - Yaskawa), PC (Rober - CoDeSys), SCADA-software (winCC) and industrial networks.
After this, you have a role in putting the machinery in operation again. Renewal of outdated hardware to latest standards.
In case of technical failures, you solve or provide support to come to a solution. In the event that technical failures are recurring, you start up investigation for example by data study. After finalizing your investigation, you come up with a proposal to eliminate the issue in future.
Afterwards you take care of documentation of implemented changes and you take care that the information is shared with your stakeholders. Last but not least you assess the condition of our machinery, analyze data in order to avoid defects/ downtime.

SEKISUI S-LEC B.V. in Roermond is part of SEKISUI S-LEC EUROPE B.V., which in turn is part of SEKISUI CHEMICAL Co. Ltd, the Japanese chemical company.
SEKISUI S-LEC is the producer of PVB interlayer film and produces in six locations around the world.
The PVB interlayer film has applications in so-called laminated glass in the automotive and architectural industries. SEKISUI S-LEC uses two production locations to supply its own required raw materials, namely the PVB resin.
The production location in Roermond started in 1996 and consists of a sales department, administrative department, technical department, and a production department division.
Approximately 145 employees are active within Roermond, 50% of whom are direct staff.
Job requirements
- Educational background on bachelor level relevant for this job
- Multiple years of experience in a similar position
- Good knowledge of window and MS Office
- Good command of English language

- In addition, you are someone who is a strong communicator and can communicate easily at different levels.
- You are someone who get to the bottom of things.
