SEKISUI S-LEC & Limpens
A long-term partnership driving reliability, innovation and visibility

For more than a decade, SEKISUI S-LEC and logistics partner Limpens have worked side by side to secure a supply chain that is reliable, resilient, and ready for the future. What started as operational cooperation around resin storage and transport has evolved into a strategically valuable partnership — built on trust, transparency, flexibility, and long-term commitment.

SEKISUI S-LEC is part of the SEKISUI CHEMICAL Group, a Japanese company with a strong global presence and eight production sites across Europe. SEKISUI S-LEC is a leading company in PVB interlayer film technology for the automotive and the architectural glazing industry.

But it is not only about what SEKISUI manufactures, it is also about the business partners we engage with. Strong partnerships are crucial and an important component to be successful. Finding the right ones is an ongoing mission.

Today, one partnership is gaining increased visibility: three cobranded SEKISUI bulk trucks are now on the road, symbolising the strength of the collaboration and enhancing SEKISUI’s regional presence.

“It shows our commitment — and also the commitment of SEKISUI. People see we’re partners, and we’re proud to drive like this.”

A strong partnership

A partnership rooted in strategic alignment

Limpens, a family-owned logistics company founded in 1930, brings a long-term mindset that aligns closely with SEKISUI SLEC’s focus on quality, continuity, and reliability. In a fast-changing environment, open communication and honesty form the basis of trust and durable partnerships. “When something intends to go wrong, we communicate and we strive for a solution. And we don’t promise what we can’t deliver.”

The partnership grew from operational needs, but it also aligns strongly with wider ambitions, including brand visibility. At its core, the partnership is driven by shared values of willingness to invest and grow, operational transparency, and a joint “solve it together” mindset.

For Limpens, the longstanding relationship is equally valuable: in a challenging logistics market environment, SEKISUI represents a stable long-term customer, making this cooperation strategically important.

It really feels like we’re working together, we established a stable relationship built over years of continuous development.

Operational excellence: flexibility that protects production continuity

SEKISUI SLEC is a global leader in PVB interlayer film technology for laminated glass used in automotive and architectural applications where safety, quality, and reliability are critical. At its European sites, including Roermond and Chemelot, SEKISUI S-LEC produces high-performance resin solutions that support continuous, high-precision manufacturing and require a stable, responsive supply chain. Within this context, Limpens is deeply integrated into this supply chain, far beyond transport alone. Their scope covers critical steps from arrival of raw materials to delivery at the customer and beyond.

Good teamwork

Flexibility is a critical success factor in this high-volume, short-distance logistics operation, where conditions can change within hours. During particularly challenging periods both SEKISUI S-LEC and Limpens had to adapt quickly and coordinate closely to secure supply continuity for the value chain and ultimately the customer.

A distinctive element of this cooperation is the proactive involvement of Limpens’ teams on the ground.

Even the drivers are thinking with us: they check silo levels and advise: ‘you need an urgent delivery’, or ‘you have enough, we can delay.’ That makes a difference.

Technology and investment

Over the years, the partnership has expanded through dedicated infrastructure and digital integration, including customer specific silos, transparent stock visibility, and ongoing IT improvements aimed at reducing manual errors and increasing efficiency.

“We are developing improvements together to make sure more goes automatically and to prevent human error.”

Looking ahead: sustainability and continuity

Both companies continue to work toward a futureproof supply chain, closely monitoring regulatory developments and market dynamics while adapting where needed.

Sustainability is a key part of the roadmap, including the exploration of AI to support planning and execution, investigation of electric trucks for specific transport flows, and continuous optimisation of logistics and inventory management.

“If you see how we developed in 12 years — if that continues for the next 12, that would be massive.”
